During her four years on the bench, Judge Miller has devoted much of her “off-duty” time to community organizations and projects.
The Resolution Center
A firm believer in peaceful dispute resolution, Judge Miller joined the board of directors of the Resolution Center in January 2010. The Center is “dedicated to enhancing the peaceful resolution of all forms of disputes by providing and promoting the use of appropriate alternative dispute resolution and collaborative problem solving processes that emphasize cooperation, collaboration and communication.”

Care House
Demonstrating her strong commitment to children, Judge Miller serves on the board of Care House, Macomb County Child Advocacy Center, and its mission to prevent and reduce the incidence and trauma of child sexual and physical abuse in Macomb County, through collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and effective family-centered activities. A board member since 2007, Judge Miller also has served as program committee chair and moderated a panel on the Child Protection Law for ministers and school, health care, and court personnel designed to help protect children by improving the identification, reporting and investigation of abuse.

Macomb County Habitat for Humanity
From 2006 until May of 2010, Judge Miller served as a member, secretary and vice-president of the Macomb County Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors. This organization is partners with working families to build or renovate an affordable, safe first home through sweat equity, community donations and public grants.
National Council for Negro Women
Since 2006, Judge Miller has volunteered on the board of the NCNW. Its mission: “to lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities, through research, advocacy, and national and community-based services and programs on issues of health, education, and economic empowerment.”
Clinton Township Area Optimist Club
Sharing a strong belief in the core values of faith, caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, Judge Miller has been a member of the Clinton Township Area Optimist Club since 2007.

Macomb County NAACP
As the first African American judge in Macomb County, Judge Miller embraces the mission of the NAACP “to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.” She has been a member of the board of the Macomb County chapter since 2006.

Nondenominational Church Member
Judge Miller has regularly attended the same nondenominational church since 1993. An active member, she has devoted time as an usher and as a member of the pastoral care team.
